This Isn't Even Your Final Form: Life Lessons From Goku & DragonBall
Both the heroes and villains of Dragon Ball Z have levels of transformations. Layers of the self even more powerful than the last that have to be earned through joy, struggle, drive, pain, and sacrifice.
Goku, depending on how you count them, has had around ten substantial forms. Goku’s final form (so far) is the godly white haired Ultra Instinct. For this transformation, his body and mind become autonomous and without even thinking his skills as a fighter become nothing short of perfect.
That’s what I strive for, an almost mechanical body and mind taken to the absolute limits to perfect my craft.
Am I there yet? Not by a long shot. I still do my fair share of flailing, and even if it is flailing in the right direction I feel a massive burden because I simply know what the ideal me could be.
